I grew up in Huntington Beach, back in the day when we slathered ourselves with baby oil tinted with iodine and maybe sunned on tin foil towels to increase our tans. As I have gotten older, I have definitely changed my attitude toward the sun. I have been in search of the perfect non-greasy sunscreen and finally found it. I spent Fourth of July weekend in the desert and spent the actual holiday on the river. My friend, Denise, has beautiful alabaster skin and I was really worried about how she was going to handle being on the water and out in the sun all day. I was picturing her looking like a lobster at the end of the day. I didn’t need to be concerned because she brought along Neutrogena Beach Defense sunscreen. We affectionally call it the “force field.” It’s amazing! When I got home, I bought a can for myself and one for my college bestie Christy, as she has had always had issues with the sun and works very hard to protect her skin. When she saw the picture of my beach bag I posted earlier in the week, she wrote this testimonial:
Just got back from Hawaii and brought the Neutrogena Beach Defense you gave me. I’m white as ever! Mission accomplished!
I keep a pouch packed at all times that I can put in my beach bag or suitcase and this magic formula is always there. In fact, I have several cans. I keep one in my desk, so I can spritz it on before lunch duty, and I keep one in my car, for when I put the top down.
Protect your skin, ladies!
Homework: What brand of sunscreen do you use?
