Dress Code: Channeling my Inner Audrey!

imageIt’s Thursday and I have had a very busy week. We have been piloting a new testing system and I have had to run back and forth between my office and the computer labs all day. It’s an exciting time as we see our students transition for Scantron-type tests to a computer based testing system. I started the week in heels and wedges and now need a day in comfortable flats. I always turn to my Tory Burch Reva’s when I know I will be on the move. I decided to create an Audrey Hepburn inspired look to accompany the flats. When I think of Audrey, I picture black cigarette pants. The slim black pants, would look perfect with my Tory flats. I added a floral chambray shirt, eyelet sweater, pearls and bracelets. To complete the look, I topped the outfit off with my Burberry trench coat, one of my favorite statement pieces. I always feel amazing when I wear it! Although, the first time I wore my trench coat to school, one of my teachers called me “Inspector Gadget!” Clearly, he didn’t understand the power of Burberry! FYI, when you are thinking about making a big purchase, like a Burberry trench coat, do your homework. This classic style doesn’t usually go on sale, so I had to work the system to get a good deal. Bloomingdales was offering an incentive for large purchases one weekend and then offering an additional percentage off for opening a charge card. All in all, I saved about $250 on the coat!

Pants: Ann Taylor, Chambray shirt: Old Navy, Sweater: Ann Taylor Loft, Shoes: Tory Burch, Trench coat: Burberry

Homework: What is your favorite Audrey Hepburn look?

  1. My favorite Audrey is the black dress she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I even purchased a knock-off, and have worn it to parties ranging from formal to costume. The perfect LBD!
